ABSTRACT

The contributors to this book have analyzed some of the main changes in employment relations in the first two decades of the EU with a retrospective and thematic perspective. Rather than comparing developments on a case by case basis with the country as the unit of analysis, this approach offers analytical consistency in that the chapters collectively contribute to a deeper understanding of the bigger picture over time, as well as addressing important topics in their own right. Of course, not all countries or important issues can be addressed but the contributions offer insightful analyses of the broader dynamics and patterns of change across different national-institutional contexts.
