ABSTRACT

Activities such as orienteering or scavenger hunts, or in Japan stamp-rallies or walk-rallies, have been conducted in a variety of fields. For example, such activities in the field of education have the potential to satisfy the objectives of orientation at universities by delivering useful information to students and enhancing their levels of engagement and motivation (Gray, Lindsay, & Walraven, 2011). They are also often conducted during tours around local areas in Japan to entice and entertain participants at events (Kichiji, 2011). People visiting various locations at such events can lead to local revitalization in the area.
