ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The weather conditions may be a contribution factor in Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) in the existing literatures. But few of them focus on the relationship between air temperature and the RTAs. In this paper, we apply regression analysis for capturing the influence of air temperature on three core indicators (including accident probability, incident intensity and casualty strength) in RTA based on daily traffic accidents and weather databases from 2000 to 2007 of Changling County in China. Different from the most of related studies, findings establish that the correlation between air temperature and RTA is not statistically significant.
