ABSTRACT

Waterlogging refers to a phenomenon that the drainage system of a city can’t deal with the water caused by heavy rainfall or continuous rainfall so much water was gathered inside city.

2.1 Global warming and urban heat island effect

On one hand, global warming somehow caused the temperature raise of the earth surface and speeded up the circulation of underground water. This trend could increase the liability of rainstorm in related area. On the other hand, urban heat island effect also changed the rain intensity because more and more air conditioners, household appliances and cars were heating thus a hot air was formed above the sky and it rained more (Cao, 2007).
