ABSTRACT

Patrick, President of Education for All (EFA)—a division of Faith Community Organization (FCO)—sat at his desk assessing the success of his division’s projects in the year just ending. As he sipped his coffee, he came to the realization that the beginning of the year was filled with countless ‘great’ project ideas. Ideas he and his team felt would do some real good. He reflected on why he identified so strongly with FCO. As a nonprofit, faith-based organization that provides programs for local communities, FCO mirrored values Patrick had learned at a young age at his local church. He recalled how the emphasis on extending a helpful hand was important to him and his work.
