ABSTRACT

This chapter identifies six of the ten disorders described in the DSM-5 and includes Insomnia, Hypersomnolence, Narcolepsy, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Central Sleep Apnea, and Nightmare Disorders. Descriptions provided in this chapter identify clients’ dissatisfaction with the quality, quantity, patterns, and timing associated with sleep, as well as varying expressions of distress and impairment that accompany these disorders.
