Parent-Infant Interactions and Early Cognitive Development: Marie Germaine Pêcheux and Florence Labrell
Empirical research on parent-infant interaction is surprisingly infrequent in France, at least in nonclinical populations. Before presenting some of our own investigations, and in order to locate them in the present state of art, we put forward some general reasons that may explain this lack of emphasis. Two types of reasons may be identified: theoretical reasons and institutional ones. Moreover, how independent they are should be analyzed.
