chapter  26
Teaching Assessment Skills in Internship Settings
ByRobert Lovitt
Pages 14

The internship setting is where students begin to synthesize diverse experiences acquired from the academic classroom and structured practicum placements. Dealing with health problems in a multidisciplinary setting requires that the student integrate diverse bodies of technical knowledge in a systematic and interpersonally sensitive manner. The psychology supervisor directs this process most effectively when he or she models, mentors, and structures experiences so that each student finishes the year having achieved a set of clearly articulated skills (Table 26.1).
