Developing “Best Practices” for Organizations: A Gap in the Current Aging Research
A good case has been made throughout this volume for the societal importance of the aging workforce in the coming decades of the 21st century. These demographic changes have led to increased concern among the governments of industrialized countries and in the popular press. In the I-O psychology literature, age is beginning to be seen as not only a statistical control variable-its traditional role-but also as a topic worthy of study in itself. In this volume, we have asked some of the leading researchers in this field to describe the current state of the field, and also to provide guidance for future research in this area.
