ABSTRACT

Milton H. Erickson, M.D., is widely regarded as the one of most innovative and creative therapists who ever lived. His accomplishments were legendary —he reestablished hypnosis as a legitimate therapeutic tool, published more than 100 scholarly articles primarily on the use of hypnosis, founded the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and was its founding journal editor for 10 years. He is also widely regarded as the originator of brief and strategic therapy and spent the last several years of his life teaching mental health professionals.
