ABSTRACT

The present chapter represents one of the few attempts to interrelate two areas of research, which to date have not taken much notice of each other, although simultaneous consideration of both seems to be highly valuable. It is argued here that coping with life-events can be far more precisely predicted and explained with regard to the selection of certain modes of coping as well as their referential outcomes, if theorizing on self-focused attention is related to the issue of coping.
