Day 1: Agreement I – nouns and adjectives

Similarly, there are some nouns ending in -o which are feminine: la mano, la radio, l’auto, la biro, la foto.

Most Italian adjectives belong to one of three groups:

• adjectives ending in -o, which have the feminine singular form in -a, e.g. italiano, italiana; necessario, necessaria; famoso, famosa;

• adjectives ending in -e, which remain the same in the feminine, e.g. inglese, interessante, facile;

• adjectives ending in -a, which also remain the same in the feminine, e.g. ottimista, entusiasta, egoista.
