Our evidence for Heraclides’ physics is scanty in the extreme; any interpretation must be highly speculative. The present discussion will be no exception. It does not aim to break new ground, but rather to review existing scholarship as a contribution to making the essays collected in this volume a more complete commentary to the testimonia relating to Heraclides.1
