ABSTRACT

Ahmed Abaddi is Secretary-General of the Rabita Muhammadia of Ulamas (Muhammadan League of Scholars) of Morocco. He received his doctoral degree in Islamic Studies (1991) and Doctorat d’Etat in Islamic Studies from Cadi Ayyad University (2002). Chair, Islamic Studies Department, Cadi Ayyad University (1992–1994); Fulbright Scholar in Residence, DePaul University and the University of Chicago (1999–2000); appointed Director of Islamic Affairs by the King of Morocco (2004); Professor, Comparative Religions, Cadi Ayyad University; currently, President of the Working Group for the Promotion of Human Rights Culture within the Human Rights Consultative Council; President and member of several governmental committees. He is the author of books and publications and the recipient of awards.
