ABSTRACT

This chapter on a "Cosmo Vision for the Future" leads into the field of "psychoethics". A Cosmo gestalt is the larger canvas upon which all transformational processes are undertaken. People are changed only by what they know, when their knowledge is related to or rooted in their existential realities, where ambiguities of anxiety, doubt, fear, hope, joy, pain, and worry are mediated through the interpersonal dynamics of dialogue, dramatic reenactment, and symbols. Genuine dialogue involves reflection, disciplined intervention, recognition of tensions, contradictions, and examined experience. Maslow discovered that all fully functioning, joyful, productive, and self-actualizing persons demonstrated a common trait: chosen work, vocation, or life purpose at the growth stage. The humanistic nonviolent objectives and goals in cosmopolitan ethical principles are proleptically present in the objectives and achievement of Gandhi's, King's, Mandela's, and Ikeda's planetary dreams. Like Gandhi, people should open the windows of their houses to permit the cultural winds of the world to blow through.
