ABSTRACT

The BSL Printing Company has been in business since 1976, printing folding cartons primarily for the textile industry. The company is major employer in the small town of Oakville, which is located in the southeastern United States. BSL Printing Company faced significant affects on its operations and financial condition from the pending bankruptcy filing of Advent Textiles, a major and longstanding customer. If BSL or Advent or both go out of business, society may pay the following cost: pay more unemployment compensation; receive less tax monies; experience increase in the costs associated with higher crime rates and demand for social programs given the higher level of unemployment. Jack knew that Advent had been very good client over the years; in fact Advent was very supportive of BSL in the beginning when BSL, itself needed all of the orders possible to stay afloat.
