Non-state actors from the perspective of the International Court of Justice

Gleider I. Hernández focuses on a selection of the International Court of Justice’s recent contributions to the international law relating to non-state actors. In doing so he shows the extent to which the Court has actively taken part in clarifying the status of these actors. He also recalls the Court’s occasional dalliances with non-state actors within its own judicial process. Eventually, he expresses some thoughts on the desirability of further expanding the participation of non-state actors, in particular international organizations, in proceedings before the Court.
