ABSTRACT

The elite survey “Trends in German Foreign Policy 2009” is a joint project of the German Council on Foreign Relations and the dimap group. 1 The two partners have asked 1,300 decision-makers from several sectors of the German foreign policy elite for their opinion on specific issues in foreign policy and in particular on the role that Germany plays on the international level. In the survey held between 18 December 2008 and 28 January 2009, 240 decision-makers from politics, administration, business, academia and NGOs followed our invitation and responded to our questions. Funding provided, the survey is to be repeated in two-year intervals.
