Yiannis, a Case Study of Dyslexia in Greece CHRISTOS SKALOUMBAKAS
Yiannis is an 11-year-old child who lives in a working-class neighborhood of a large city in Greece. He is an intelligent and polite child with an interest in learning that extends beyond the range of subjects covered at school. He is highly articulate, yet somewhat awkward and self-conscious in his social encounters. Yiannis is very perceptive and quite talkative with people he knows well or when talking about issues that interest him. He has been in a remediation program with the researcher for over two years so the interview was held in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
