Valeriy, a Case Study of Dyslexia in Russia OLGA BORISOVNA INSHAKOVA AND MARIA ARKHIPOVA
Valeriy is an 11-year-old boy, who was diagnosed as dyslexic at the age of nine. He is a very social child who is talkative and fun loving. During the interview he spoke excitedly about his sport achievements. However, Valeriy’s reading problems are upsetting to him. During the interview, when he spoke about these diffi culties, he was obviously uncomfortable. He was reticent at these times, retreating from the conversation until the interviewer encouraged him to return again to the topic of dyslexia.
