ABSTRACT

What is important for spirituality is that the focus on new centres of power, such as transnational corporations, the World Bank, IMF and WTO, has meant that the notion of what ‘life’ means has shrunk to the business model of life:

It is also a drastically shrunken notion of economics, made possible by the separation of money from real commodities, manufactured goods and agriculture. All this has led to the overwhelming suffering of poor countries the world over but especially the Two-thirds World, and specifically through the continuing debt crisis, with a direct impact on our theme.
