ABSTRACT

This collection readily suggests that environmental education research is a healthy and productive field of inquiry, brimming with ideas and perspectives on its past, present and future. Indeed there is good reason to believe that these are exceptional times for work in this area. Both the quality and breadth of studies and commentaries continue to grow in Environmental Education Research, not to mention those published elsewhere, as do the monographs, theses, conferences, and measures of public and private esteem that further the research field. All this demonstrates that environmental education inquiries are evolving, extending, and multiplying, and with a greater profile, depth and scope, the field should have bright prospects.
