ABSTRACT

The distribution of scores was approximately trivariate normal and had reliabilities comparable with those of commonly used tests (Table 5). The intercorrelations among scales were negligible or weak (Table 6). The weak correlations observed were consistent with those expected theoretically: novelty seeking is inhibited by harm avoidance, 80 these behavioral scales have a weak negative correlation, whereas high reward dependence leads to repeated exposure to frustrative nonreward, thus predisposing weakly to sensitization,u so there is a weak positive correlation between reward-dependent and harm·avoidant behavior.
