Studying Network Journalism

Journalists, regardless of what platform they are operating on-be it broadcast, print or online-are realizing the pressures of having to adapt their practices of newsgathering, production and dissemination. Yet the question remains for many: what to make of these changes, if and how they should adapt their media presence and how much interaction with users as well as with alternative sources they should allow. The reactions toward the introduction of digital technologies to newsrooms have been extremely dispersed, ranging from an attitude of viewing them as both ‘a blessing’ and ‘a curse’ (McNair, 1998: 125).
