There has been much discussion and debate, in this text and elsewhere, about whether and how boys and men may be in crisis with regard to their participation in K-16 education. Most of the discussion begins with statistical information about the relative percentages of boys and girls or men and women enrolled in, and/or graduating from schools and colleges. More recent scholarship disaggregates this data in order to highlight the particular situation of various subpopulations of boys and men.
