Core Connections

ByPhilip J. Henry

Positive core connections make up a significant part of a happy and healthy life. This exercise will allow the client to visualize the organization of his or her relational core connections and will help both the therapist and the client to accomplish the following:

1. Explore and understand the current relational world of the client. 2. Identify individuals who may cause barriers or links in the therapy process. 3. Help discover the client’s relational patterns of interaction. 4. Identify closeness and distance of family of origin as well as other significant relation-

ships. 5. Identify possible areas of trauma or areas where healing needs to occur. 6. Search for areas of relational growth and strength. 7. Examine where the client is in relationship to God.
