It’s Just Like Me

ByPhilip J. Henry

The goal of this exercise is to facilitate the therapeutic connection with the adolescent by encouraging the client to begin talking about himself or herself. This will aid the client in examining the conclusions regarding his or her self-concept. The ability to name, communicate, and adjust these conclusions is a key factor in reaching a successful outcome in counseling. Rationale for Use

On the outside, he or she engages in a variety of new activities, has the opportunity to meet and connect with an ever-widening group of people, and is able to try out new and unique behaviors. Inside as well, the teen is a buzzing hive of activity.
