The popular television drama House was ®rst broadcast in 2004 and it reached its hundredth episode in February 2009. A sixth season began in late 2009. In the intervening period it won numerous awards and tremendous critical success. According to one ratings agency, in 2008 House had more than 81.8 million viewers (Eurodata TV Worldwide, 2009), making it the most popular drama series in the world that year. It is more than just a popular drama; it is a globally popular drama.
