ABSTRACT
Viewed from the perspective of the individual employee, work-related crises can have serious consequences. Work plays a major role in our lives. Not only is it an essential source of income, but work shapes our personal development and identity. Also, Tapsell and Tunstall (2008) remind us that, in relation to their place of employment, people display a sense of place which is infused with personal meaning and belonging.
