ABSTRACT

The findings and concepts presented in the preceding chapters of this book are based primarily on qualitative studies of counselor and therapist development. In this chapter, by contrast, we summarize some major findings, theoretical formulations, and practical implications of a quantitative study of the same subject. In addition to presenting further research findings, we hope to show how quantitative and qualitative research approaches to a common topic can be complementary, providing both breadth and depth of perspective.
