ABSTRACT
We hope that readers recognize their important role of understanding and critiquing the conditions of schooling via a critical race theory framework as well as their vital role as school-based professionals in dismantling oppressive structures and practices. We realize that some readers are preparing for the essential role of educational researcher either via teacherbased action research or as traditional educational researchers. For them, we off er some suggestions and guidelines for engaging in educational research from a CRT perspective.
