ABSTRACT
New York’s Chinatown is a seminal case of the ethnic enclave economy, a dynamic motor of immigrant labor and capital that expanded from its initial core on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to encompass surrounding neighborhoods, as well as establishing satellite Chinatown locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, notably in Queens and Brooklyn.
