ABSTRACT
QC Circles One of the principal conclusions from the case studies presented in this booklet is the importance of the role of so-called “QC Circles” or quality control circles in assisting in the upgrading of productivity. Another important conclusion is that their significance derives not simply from their activities in quality control, but also from the wide range of contributions which the circles make to productivity, safety, and general communication between management and workers in the corporations which utilize them. Instead of “quality control circles,” a more inclusive and appropriate appellation is “small group activities,” which has been chosen as the title of this chapter explaining the content and significance of these activities.
