ABSTRACT

Defeat came so suddenly under the clear sunny sky of a summer’s day. Sixty years have now already passed since those days and yet the memories of the first 15 years of my life are not so easily forgotten. Now from within the world of films, I look back on those days of my youth, when I was so unaware of the war, and although I feel a strange sense of nostalgia, I am filled with unbearable regrets. It is because of those regrets … that I have created the three films known as my war requiem. 1
