ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses a project designed to gather the views of twenty kindergarten children, including four children with labels of autistic spectrum disorders (ASD), about an inclusion project that they are currently involved in. A picture booklet, utilizing pictures of the inclusion classroom with prompts to support student responses, was adopted as a research tool. The chapter discusses the children’s responses to the picture booklet as a research tool, and the discovery that, for some children, additional strategies and research processes were required to better hear their voices.
