Neuropsychology of Asian Indians

ByVaishali S. Phatak, Vidyulata Kamath, Daryl Fujii

India is an ancient and dynamic culture with a continuous civilization since 2500 B.C.E. The people that inhabited the Indus River Valley founded a culture reliant on commerce and dependent on agricultural trade that has continued until the present day (Danielou, 2003). As Aryan-speaking groups of people came into the region from the Northwest, they settled in the middle Ganges River Valley, adapting to the preexisting cultures in the area during the second millennium (Naidis, 1966).
