Initial teacher training to meet the needs of students with disabilities who are culturally and linguistically diverse

The changes around the world caused by globalization and worldwide immigration have produced a diverse student base. Given the world’s changing demographics a reconceptualization of effective teaching of those who are culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) is needed. Provision of such services directly depends on teachers who are knowledgeable and skilled, but who are also able to establish trusting working relationships with children and their families.
