Modeling of Self-regulated Reasoning

In describing how Barbara sets up learning communities in her classrooms (see Chapter 2), we noted her emphasis on practicing what she preaches: she consistently models caring, respect, collegiality, support, and the other attitudes and behaviors that sustain collaborative learning. Clearly, modeling is a powerful socialization tool, and Barbara employs it consistently and deliberately.
