ABSTRACT

The athletes’ performance evaluation and the training control are important tasks for coaches, allowing the accurate definition of the training loads and the reorganization of the training process (Bampouras and Marrin, 2009). Several performance components are evaluated on a training control programme, one of which refers to the expended energy that comes predominantly from the anaerobic system. Accordingly to Wilmore and Costill (1999), when the effort leads to exhaustion, the anaerobic system has a total time capacity of 90 s. Nevertheless, other authors suggest that this same total time capacity varies from 60 to 120 s (Gastin, 2001; Guyton and Hall, 2002).
