One challenge for many public journalism exponents lies in how to develop a set of news-gathering, reporting and editing practices that place journalists in the best position to support deliberation. Another is how to ensure that these practices and ideas are maintained after the projects have fi nished or the newsroom leaders who have instigated such activities move to new positions.
