University teachers and the people who work with them to design and manage higher education learning environments are having to reconcile the eects of a number of powerful forces. ese include: (1) diversifying student needs and expectations; (2) increasing pressures on the time and intellectual energy of university sta; (3) rising expectations among employers, and in society more generally, about graduate capabilities; and (4) accelerating technological change.
