Theatre of the Emotional Experience

The rst meeting featuring Vakhtangov. He arrived late, did not have time to read the play, and therefore started the rehearsal by reading the rst act out loud. Soon he got tired and asked members of the group to take turns reading the play. Vakhtangov commented on diction, voice, the style of reading, etc. At the end of each act, he asked everyone to express their opinion on prominent scenes of the act, as well as its general atmosphere.2
