There is also a range of intermediary groups, or “knowledge brokers,” involved in dissemination of developmental research, including think tanks, advocacy organizations, professional and science associations, university press offices, and journalists. These intermediaries have the credibility to disseminate research to policy makers and practitioners and are also trusted sources of research for the media and, therefore, the public. Working with intermediaries can greatly enhance a researcher’s ability to reach different audiences. Many of the same skills and considerations are helpful in translating research for use by any of these groups.
