ABSTRACT
Leaving aside their speci®c diagnosis, many personality disorder (PD) patients display a series of recurring characteristics:
· Poor comprehension of mental states, i.e. lack of metacognition, and in particular a dif®culty in de®ning their own affects and the relational causes behind them.
