chapter  12
Inclusive adventure education: better opportunities for people with disabilities
ByJoseph Gibson
Pages 17

The general growth in the number of people engaged in adventure education is encouraging, as is the increase in the diversity of people who now benefit from it. Whilst there is still much to do, there are encouraging signs that a more inclusive philosophy is being embraced within adventure education, despite some of the obvious (and indeed less obvious) challenges that it might bring. This chapter looks at embracing inclusivity by focusing on the practice of adventure education with people who have disabilities.
