ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the use of observation technique and observational analysis in the context of case study designs. It first describes what the authors mean by observation and case study designs. This is then further explained through two empirical studies: one that used a single case multiple baseline design and one that used longitudinal data across multiple cases. The authors draw conclusions on the basis of their experience and provide implications for researchers planning on using case study designs and observational analysis.
