This chapter explores the development of the personal and professional identities of Ed, a gay primary school teacher. Through narrative we are pulled into his world and invited to ‘imaginatively identify’ with his perspective (Kohler Riessman 2008:9) from childhood through adolescence and work, but largely focusing on his move into primary teaching.
