ABSTRACT

This chapter examines consumer involvement in a qualitative research study that focused on investigating parentsߣ views of child health surveillance. We provide an overview of findings, a description of the consumer involvement and the experience of two of the parent-researchers involved, plus a discussion of the challenges and bar riers that we experienced as a team in terms of consumer involvement. Finally, we try to provide an answer to whether this really was consumer led research. We hope that this will serve as a useful example to other research teams.
