ABSTRACT
Worldwide, there is now increasing acknowledgment of the serious problem of climate change by all sectors, from environmental movements and other civil society organizations to governments and intergovernmental agencies, including the United Nations. Unless urgent initiatives and efforts are implemented at individual, institutional, and societal levels to address climate change, our planet will suffer the impact of various facets of ecological destruction with dire consequences for many millions of human beings and countless other species. In these ‘interesting’ times, faiths, as much as other societal institutions and stakeholders, are challenged to show their relevance in facing the dangers of climate change and their capacities to seize the opportunities for becoming part of the solutions to this monumental crisis.
