ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION This chapter is about classroom assessment. It is more, however, than a presentation of the more traditional topics associated with administering tests and giving grades. Instead, we will focus primarily on the relationship between assessment and instruction and show how the interplay between these impacts in very important ways on how teachers teach and what students learn.
